- Isolate the drive’s 24 VDC control supply before removing or inserting the board.
- Seat the DAPC100 on the backplane connectors inside the drive cubicle; ensure the board locks firmly into place.
- Insert the CMT memory stick into its slot — parameters and firmware are stored on the stick, not on the board itself.
- Verify Ethernet / RS-485 fieldbus wiring before restoring control power.
- Confirm the drive’s HMI shows normal control board status after power-up; check the 5 VDC logic rail if no display appears.
Common Questions
What is the CMT memory stick for? The CMT (Compact Memory Technology) stick carries the drive firmware, application parameters, and tuning data. When replacing a DAPC100, transfer the existing CMT stick to the new board to avoid reloading parameters.
Can this board be used in an ACS800 or ACS880 drive? No. The DAPC100 is specific to the legacy DARA 1000 / 2000 drive family. Modern ACS-series drives use different control boards (e.g., RDCU, JCU) and are not drop-in compatible.
What voltage does the board run on? The board is powered by 24 VDC from the drive’s auxiliary control supply; it generates its own 5 VDC logic internally. It is not a mains-voltage board and must not be wired directly to line power.
